PHENICS TECHNOLOGIES was the first company to carry out a diving operation in an active nuclear power plant in 1995. Since then, PHENICS TECHNOLOGIES has contributed to improving nuclear safety and reducing ambient radiation levels.

We are able to perform under the water almost all the technical activities usually done on the surface: welding, minor mechanical work, NDT.

For the record, the cumulated doses removed up to now correspond to 1,480 Sv, i.e. 1,480,000 mSv!

  • Difficult access works in nuclear plants

    Rope access works in potentially irradiated zones such as reactor building and spent fuel pool building. visual inspection, NDT , dye penetrant inspection, evaluation of condensers, inspection of pipe support systems, maintenance, cleaning of inaccessible areas, pipe marking. Installation and inspection of safe lines and anchoring points.

  • DIVING IN REACTOR POOL, SPENT FUEL POOL amp; TRANSFER COMPARTMENT

    Underwater work in nuclear pool located in the fuel building. Testing, maintenance and modification of the facilities. Underwater decontamination. Operations monitored by teledosimetry (real time radiation dose measurement). ALARA approach.

  • ROPE ACCESS SERVICES IN CONTROLLED AREAS

    Rope access works in potentially irradiated zones such as reactor building and spent fuel pool building. visual inspection, NDT , dye penetrant inspection, evaluation of condensers, inspection of pipe support systems, maintenance, cleaning of inaccessible areas, pipe marking. Installation and inspection of safe lines and anchoring points.

  • UNDERWATER EXPERT ASSESSMENT OF SUBMERGED STRUCTURES

    Visual and televised inspection, auscultation, ultrasound measurement, suggestion and implementation of repair solutions.

  • UNDERWATER PACMAN FILTRATION AND REMOVAL OF HIGHLY CONTAMINATED MATERIALS

    Filtration of pool water before drainage. This independent system, installed before and after VHP cleaning of the pool walls, allows the recovery of substantial amounts of radioactive particles before maintenance which results in a significant reduction of the dosimetry.

  • UNDERWATER WORKS IN NUCLEAR PLANTS

    Repair of submerged structures, welding, cutting, subsea civil engineering Underwater maintenance of pumping station: stop log placement, desilting.
